Devotional Thoughts: Quenched Thirst

Here’s Jesus’ words to what might have been the first female evangelist who ran to share with her town. She had made some terrible choices in her life. Her weakness was men. We can survive a pretty long time without food, however we cannot survive long without water. Feeling thirsty can be excruciating. I remember feeling thirsty spiritually but looking in all the wrong places as this woman from Samaria did. When I understood the Gospel message my thirst was quenched and I am still satisfied today. Anyone who reaches out to God surrendering will never thirst again. God meets those needs for us and provides for us in unexplainable ways. God chose a woman who wasn’t valued in society and gave her the greatest purpose through sharing the greatest message the Messiah is here! She was changed through her encounter with Jesus and we can be too.
